Potful

Potful boasts of authentic fresh biryani, all served in a traditional claypot. Is the claypot all potful can offer to compete in the hypercompetitive biryani delivery space?

Order

You can order through their own system but also through swiggy and zomato. I ordered their “Claybot Hyderabadi Mini Family Combo - Boneless Chicken” for 610 INR.

Packaging

The service was quick and a huge package heavy package showed up with a claypot! They also had nice insulated cardboard packaging, but there were plastic containers for the sauce and Gulab Jamun. Nothing leaked.

Chicken65

An excellent interpretation of the Chicken-65. The chicken was crisp and perfectly cooked. The chicken was tossed in this exceptional peppery and curry-leaf mixture, and the wonderful curry-;eaf and garlic flavour was both complex and yummy. The crispy bits were also included in the box as a welcome addition. The chicken-65 was boneless and there was a lot, so portion sizes are optimal. There was a dip, but I thought it was too potent and its sweet and spicy characteristics overwhelmed the chicken.

Biryani

The claypot was a fun experience. Breaking the seal to unveil steaming hot Chicken Biryani. There was a large amount of Biryani.

The layered chicken at the bottom was nice. Unlike a lot of biryanis that are over spiced , the more subtle flavour that came through was better for me. I liked the overall layering as well, as there was a good balance between the rice and chicken. I do think they were stingy with the amount of chicken in the biryani.

Gulab Jamun

Tasted very generic, a little too sweet and the ball wasn’t as melt-in-my-mouth as I would have liked.

Overall

I really enjoyed the meal. There was lots of food for the price. The claypot definitely kept the food hot, and a note that included seeds was a delightful touch. The experience was certainly pleasant, and I will definitely try potful again.
